Guild Wars 3 Development Confirmed by NCSoft

NCSoft held a general shareholders’ meeting on the 28th, but there’s something in particular that’s eye-catching… Park Byung-moo, the Acting Chairman, confirmed the development of Guild Wars 3.

Park Byung-moo is a recent addition to NCSoft and is part of a dual leadership with the founder and CEO Kim Taek-jin established the company in 1997. This is also the first time the founder has recruited an outside member to a top executive position.

Alongside Guild Wars 3, Park also discusses ArenaNet’s efforts to grow the IP and increase its “competitiveness”. He also mentions other projects under NCSoft’s banner, including the successful Lineage franchise.

The full article regarding the shareholders’ meeting is available online, but requires translation tools as it is reported in Korean. In the meeting, Park also outlines other key goals for the company, including creating a sustainable future and trying to move away from NCSoft’s “stigma” as a company focused on microtransactions and “pay-to-win”.

It’ll still probably be a long wait until Guild Wars 3 if it even leaves development. Guild Wars 2 is still receiving updates, with a new story chapter recently released—The Realm of Dreams.
