We’ve gotten our first look at the new Lord of the Rings game coming out. The Tales of the Shire trailer has dropped, and it promises a cozy look into Middle-earth.

Tales of the Shire aims to bring fans back to the fantasy world of Lord of the Rings with a new cozy spin. You’ll be living the cozy life of a hobbit in the serene landscape that is the shire—away from the horrors and wars of Middle-earth.
You’ll create your own Hobbit, and set forth in Bywater. It isn’t established as an official village just yet, but you’ll be playing a part in helping the town flourish.
From the official Tales of the Shire trailer, it looks like this game is a nice mix between Animal Crossing and Stardew Valley. The water paint-esque aesthetic also looks gorgeous, and fits the high-fantasy vibe of Lord of the Rings.
You can learn more about the game over on the official website. It’s planning to launch later this year on PC (Steam), PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and the Nintendo Switch.
It’s still currently unknown if the game will feature multiplayer, but it’ll be a missed opportunity if it doesn’t. Imagine visiting your friend’s hobbit holes, and sharing meals together!
