Art for the new MMO Digimon Super Rumble

So it turns out there is a new Digimon MMO coming! Digimon Super Rumble was announced earlier this year, and is being developed by MoveGames.

If MoveGames sounds familiar, that’s because they previously developed Digimon Masters Online.

So the new MMO, Digimon Super Rumble will be running on Unreal Engine 4. The game will allow players to explore the original world of Adventures in an all-new way!

From what we’ve seen so far, the game looks absolutely gorgeous. Super Rumble also looks like a huge step-up over Masters Online.

The game has only been announced for Korea so far, however considering MoveGames has brought over the other Digimon MMO I’m sure we’ll see it.

Digimon Super Rumble has already gone through one Closed Beta, and the developers were happy with players overseas joining in!

Here is some Beta gameplay footage from YouTuber VihKun.

Digimon Super Rumble Beta Gameplay

This all has me super excited. There hasn’t been a new Digimon game in awhile (Where are you Survive?), and I’d love a new MMO to explore.

From all the Beta feedback I’ve heard, the gameplay seems great. I can’t wait to revisit all the old locations from the original Adventures anime.

I love how the game is completely open world, the other Digimon just roaming around. And then you also have your partner Digimon following you.

The combat system looks similar to something you see out of Pokemon. Hopefully Digimon Super Rumble can deliver on the Monster Taming MMO promise.

As long as the developers can dodge the pitfalls that set back Masters Online, I think Digimon Super Rumble has huge potential.

If you’re interested in Digimon Super Rumble, you can check out the official website. Just keep in mind it’s all in Korean.

For fans of Digimon Masters Online – don’t worry. The developers will still be working on the game, and actually announced a remaster for next year!
